via keyword positioning and search engine optimization, the most effective strategy, we feel, is that of the “Portal” website acting as the hub of a wheel fed by a network of Gateway sites (discussed under network) that are optimized for top search position.

The “Portal” site is where the most in depth information and application services reside.  While we can, and do, optimize the Portal for maximum search engine placement – the reality is that the amount and type of code required to deliver the services often interferes with the keyword indexing process carried out by the search engine indexing robots. Therefore, we leave the bulk of the keyword indexing focus on the satellite Gateway sites with adequate links for the visitor to open up services offered by the Portal – should they desire.
